The Maha Yuti government will not stop people-friendly schemes like Majhi Ladki Bahin (Dear Sister) and Majha Ladka Bhau (Dear Brother), Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Thursday.
"People of Maharashtra have shown which Shiv Sena is real," he said, addressing a gathering in Nanded. He was in the district to thank the people who had voted in favour of Maha Yuti in all its nine assembly segments.
Shinde said that 'Sach Khand' (the name of a famous Gurudwara in Nanded) means the land of truth and it is the truth that has prevailed here in the assembly elections.
“All the nine seats were won by the Maha Yuti. This success is the result of love showered on us by our sisters, brothers, farmers and elders. I had come here to address a meeting of dear sisters after launching Ladki Bahin scheme. All of you have shown the door to those who were trying to disrupt the Rs 1500 per month that our government was paying. You have given them a solid kick and gave us a hundred per cent result,” said Shinde.
He recalled how Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray used to always be on the side of the truth. “Shiv Sena is a party of workers. Nobody is an owner or servant here. Balasaheb used to call Shiv Sainiks his colleagues. But later on, some people started treating the Shiv Sainiks as maidservants,” said Shinde, targeting Uddhav Thackeray.
“Now our Shiv Sena is being run purely on merit. We are going ahead with the thoughts of Balasaheb and Anand Dighe. We had won two lakh more votes in Lok Sabha elections than the UBT Sena and now in assembly elections, we won 15 lakh more votes. So people have decided which Shiv Sena is real,” Shinde pointed out.
He also informed how the MVA government stopped the people-centric schemes of the previous government (Devendra Fadnavis government of 2014-19).
“When our government came to power, we restarted projects like the Marathwada water grid scheme and Jal Yukhta Shivar Scheme. In the last two and half years, our government has done so much work that our Shiv Sainiks can face people with pride. Because we are aware of the poverty we took a decision to launch the Ladki Bahin scheme and gave Rs 45000 crore for farmers-related schemes and projects.
Shinde expressed confidence that the four Shiv Sena legislators from Nanded will change the face of the district and their respective constituencies.
