Exit polls hint that NDA might not cross 400

Today marks the culmination of a lengthy Lok Sabha polling process that lasted for seven phases. The general elections in the world's largest democracy began on April 19 with the incumbent BJP-led NDA government taking on the Opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A). The assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim also went to polls and the counting of votes will be take place on June 4.

In Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, the counting for the Assembly polls will be held on June 2.

Ahead of the results, all eyes are now set on the Exit Polls. According to the Election Commission's (EC) guidelines, television channels and news outlets will be able to run exit poll data and its results after 6:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the Congress on Friday said that its representatives will stay out of television debates on exit polls. Mallikarjun Kharge-led party has maintained that it has claimed that it has no intention to indulge in speculation and slugfest for TRP. The decision has resulted in the BJP leadership accusing Congress of having conceded defeat ahead of the counting.
