Two doctors from Pune's Sasoon General Hospital were arrested on Monday for manipulating the blood test report of the minor driver who mowed down two techies with his father's Porsche.

The duo was identified as Dr Ajay Tawade, the head of the forensic lab, and Dr Hari Harnor. Police have seized their phones after the probe revealed that Dr Tawade and boy's father spoke over the phone soon after the accident occurred.

Police said the Pune boy, aged 17, was heavily drunk when the fatal accident took place. The doctors switched the teen's blood sample with another, according to Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar.

The police arrested the boy's grandfather on Saturday for wrongful confinement of the family driver. The boy's father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, is also in police custody on same charges. They reportedly threatened the driver to take blame for the accident and offered him money.

Both of them have been booked under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement). Vishal, the boy's father, was also charged under the Juvenile Justice Act for `exposing a child to danger' by handing over the car to him despite having no driving licence.

Though the minor boy was earlier granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board which asked him to write an essay on road accidents, he was later sent to an observation home till June 5 amid outrage over the lenient treatment and a review application by the police.
