An arrest warrant has been issued against suspended Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of party supremo H.D. Deve Gowda. The development came after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case reportedly approached a court and sought permission to issue the warrant.
Haasan MP Prajwal, son of JD(S) MLA and former Karnataka Minister H D Revanna, reportedly left for Germany on April 27 and is still at large. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against Prajwal in an effort to bring him back.
The 33-year-old leader is facing charges of multiple instances of sexually abusing women. The JDS leader is accused of shooting several such sexual assaults to blackmail the survivors.
Prajwal's father HD Revanna's custody was sought by the SIT which is probing the alleged sexual abuse charges and related cases against Prajwal. A 47-year-old house help, who served the Revanna family, had claimed that the father and son had sexually harassed her at the MLA's residence. On May 17, a Bengaluru court extended the interim anticipatory bail granted to Revanna in the case till May 20, while reserving orders on his anticipatory bail plea till then.
