A horrible video surfaced from Maharashtra on Monday evening that showed the fall of a giant advertisement hoarding that claimed the lives of three people in Mumbai. As many as 67 people were dragged out of the accident so far, according to latest information.

At least 100 people are feared trapped underneath the object that came crashing down amidst the heavy downpour that affected life in the city, reports said. 54 people suffered injuries in the incident after the huge hoarding fell at the Police Ground Petrol Pump, news agency ANI reported. They are being rushed to the Rajawadi Hospital.

Quoting  Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the location of the incident was on the Eastern Express Highway in Pantnagar, Ghatkopar East. Search and rescue operations are going on BMC, added. Initially, the number of injured people was reported to be 35. The fierce dust storm and heavy rainfall have affected the rescue efforts after the unfortunate incident was reported around 4:30 PM.

An NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) team has joined the rescue operation, BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani was quoted as saying by PTI.

Cranes and (gas) cutters have also reached the spot for rescue operation, he said.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has cancelled his Lok Sabha campaign and public meetings to meet the victims of the accident. He also confirmed thay a high-level inquiry has been ordered to find out the cause of the tragedy.
