Prime Minister Narendra Modi likened Congress to Pakistan on Thursday and charged leaders of the neighbouring country are praying to make Congress leader Rahul Gandhi the next premier.

Addressing a campaign rally in Gujarat, Modi said, “Look at the coincidence; today Congress is getting weak in India. The funny thing is that here Congress is dying and there Pakistan is crying. Now, Pakistani leaders are praying for Congress. Pakistan leaders want to make 'shehzada' of Congress India's prime minister. We already know that Congress party is a 'mureed' (follower) of Pakistan. This partnership between Pakistan and Congress has now been completely exposed."

The prime minister charged leaders of the INDIA bloc are calling for 'Vote jihad’. “We had heard about 'love jihad' and 'land jihad', but an INDI alliance leader has now called for 'vote jihad', said Modi referring to Congress leader Salman Khurshid's niece Maria Alam Khan's statement recently.

The prime minister alleged the Congress wants to give reservation meant for backward classes to Muslims. “Congress wants to change India's Constitution to give reservation of SC, ST and OBC communities to Muslims. I challenge Congress to give in writing that they will not change Constitution to give reservation on religious basis,” he said.
