Atishi says Kejriwal 'unwell', lost 4.5kg after imprisonment; Delhi HC set to hear plea against arrest

Prison authorities claimed Kejriwal's health condition is fine

AAP minister Atishi said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, is unwell and lost 4.5 kg ever since. 

“Arvind Kejriwal is a severe diabetic. Despite health problems, he used to work 24 hours a day to serve the country. Since his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal has lost 4.5 kg of weight. This is very worrying. Today, the BJP is putting his health at risk by putting him in jail,” Atishi said.

“If something happens to Arvind Kejriwal, forget about the entire country, even God will not forgive them. BJP can go to any extent to ruin Arvind Kejriwal and AAP and hence I am warning BJP that the entire nation is watching you,” she added.

This comes as the Delhi High Court is set hear Kejriwal's petition against the ED arrest on Wednesday.

However, Tihar prison authorities claimed that the AAP national convener's health condition is fine. He was remanded in judicial custody till April 15 and has been lodged in Tihar jail.

Kejriwal who is diabetic has been provided a sensor to track his blood sugar levels besides medication and toffees to keep the sugar levels stable. Reports claimed that his blood sugar level has been fluctuating in the recent days.

Prison authorities have reportedly tasked a quick response team near Kejriwal's 14x8 feet cell in Jail No. 2 in case of an emergency. He is also being given home-cooked food for lunch and dinner.
