Expressing his displeasure over the denial of ticket to contest from Bangalore North again, BJP MP and former chief minister Sadananda Gowda said he would share his “inner feelings” soon.

There has been speculation that the former Union minister might join the Congress and contest the Lok Sabha election from Mysuru.

"It is true that I have been contacted by others; it is also true that our party leaders also contacted and discussed with me. Last night, a predominant office bearer of our party came to me and tried to pacify me. Various things are happening," Gowda, a former state BJP president, said.

The 71-year-old, who is celebrating his birthday on Monday, said he would like to spend time with family and well-wishers.

"After that, making a decision, I will come before you and address the media... I have to share my inner feelings. I have to discuss with my family my decision; after my consciousness, I have to consult my family," said the BJP veteran.

The saffron party has fielded Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje, who is currently representing Udupi Chikmagalur, from Bengaluru North.

"I had decided to stay away from electoral politics, but I was pulled back by all senior state leaders who asked me to contest again, but no one came to my rescue at the last minute, which has caused some embarrassment to me," said Gowda.

The former minister added that there is nothing left to say that the BJP is a party with a difference in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leaders, including R. Ashoka and C.N. Ashwath, met Gowda at his residence and appealed to him not to leave the party. Karandlaje, too, met Gowda.
