Kota is in the news for the wrong reasons yet again. The Rajasthan Police on Saturday arrested a government school teacher in the district for allegedly thrashing a Class 1 student and dislocating her arm bone.

The accused teacher was identified as Mohammed Sattar of Kota's Khedarasulpur government senior secondary school. The incident that led to his arrest took place on Saturday. Sattar is accused of physically assaulting the girl and pulling her by the arm in the process. The sheer force exerted on her by the teacher caused dislocation of the bone, the police told the press.

Mohammed Sattar was arrested on Saturday evening after the five-year-old girl's father approached the local police station with a complaint. The case has been registered at the Kaithun police station of the district. The accused teacher will be produced before a court on Sunday, Circle Officer (Kota Rural) Gagendra Singh was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

The teacher has been booked under the Indian Penal Code and SC/ST Act.
