Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while speaking in the assembly on Wednesday, took a dig at the BJP after the Supreme Court overturned the outcome of the Chandigarh mayoral elections.

Citing verses from the Bhagavad Gita, the AAP convenor said the god decided to intervene and put an end to the BJP's "adharma (unrighteousness)".

Thanking the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud for saving the country's democracy, Kejriwal said, "It seemed as though god were speaking through the CJI."

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday declared defeated AAP-Congress alliance candidate Kuldeep Kumar as the new Chandigarh mayor by overturning the poll result.

The Delhi CM accused the BJP of trying to poach MLAs and bringing down governments, claiming that the ruling party would do anything to win elections.

He said all the devotees of Lord Ram, Krishna, Shiv-Parvati are with the country and finally, the "adharm" of the BJP will come to an end and "dharm (righteousness)" will prevail.

Talking about the farmers' protest in Punjab-Haryana border, Kejriwal slammed the BJP for not allowing the demonstrators to reach Delhi. "Why don't they allow the farmers to come to Delhi? They do not pay the price for their crops and also do not listen to them," he claimed.
