Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, arrested for his alleged role in the Delhi excise policy scam case, was granted three-day interim bail by a city court on Monday to attend his niece's wedding.

Special judge M.K. Nagpal granted relief to the former deputy chief minister from February 13–15.

Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on February 26, 2023 for his alleged role in the corruption case. On February 28, he resigned from the Delhi cabinet.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested the AAP leader in a money-laundering case stemming from the CBI FIR on March 9, 2023 after questioning him in Tihar Jail.

The case pertains to the allegations that the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021–22 to grant licences to liquor traders allowed cartelisation and favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge repeatedly refuted by the AAP.

The policy was subsequently scrapped, and the Delhi lieutenant governor recommended a CBI probe, following which the ED registered a case under the PMLA.
