Congress on Wednesday announced that it will hold 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' from January 14 to March 20 from Manipur to Mumbai.
AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal said the 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' will cover 6,200 km crossing 14 states. These include 85 districts across Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra
'Bharat Nyay Yatra' will mostly be covered by bus along with short stretches of walking, added Venugopal.
“The Congress Working Committee, during its meeting, asked Rahul Gandhi to launch an East-West yatra, following which, he decided to respect the opinion of the CWC and do it. As such, he will be starting his yatra from January 14 from Manipur and end it in Mumbai. It will be called the Bharat Nyay Yatra,” Venugopal was quoted as saying.
This comes months after the Bharat Jodo Yatra during which Mr Gandhi walked on foot from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Gandhi is expected to interact with the youth, women and marginalised people.
