As many as 15 to 20 MLAs are likely to be sworn in as ministers in the new Madhya Pradesh cabinet on Monday. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet will take place at 3:30 pm.

The Chief Minister met Governor Mangubhai Patel at 9.30 am on Monday to hand over the list to those taking oath.

Yadav, who took oath as the Chief Minister along with two deputy chief ministers Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla on December 13, met BJP chief J P Nadda in Delhi on Sunday. Yadav is said to have produced the list of names to Naddha, who approved it. 

Though he refused to divulge details of the Cabinet, reports claim over 15 to 20 MLAs will be inducted into the government. The maximum strength of the council of ministers in Madhya Pradesh, which has 230 MLAs, can be 35, including the CM. "After clinching a landslide victory under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our double engine government will move ahead under his leadership and that of JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah," Yadav said. 

Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony are underway at Raj Bhawan.

 Speculations are rife that the state may emulate the Chhattisgarh model, which will see the induction of many new faces. Prahlad Singh Patel, a former Union Minister and MLA from Narsinghpur; Kailash Vijayvargiya, general secretary of the BJP; MLA from Rahli in Sagar district, Gopal Bhargava; Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Krishna Gaur, Rameshwar Sharma, Kamal Marskole, Gayatri Pawar, Ghanshyam Chandravanshi, Sampatiya Uike, Dinesh Rai Munmun, Abhilash Pandey, Reeti Pathak, and Rakesh Singh are among the probable candidates who might take oath in the new cabinet, according to Zee News report.

There are also reports that the state BJP leadership will consider caste and regional equations while choosing the names. Keeping the Lok Sabha elections in mind, parliamentary constituency-wise representation will also be ensured in the Cabinet.
