Prasident Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignations of three union ministers—Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel and Renuka Singh Saruta—with immediate effect, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement on Thursday.

The ministers had submitted their resignation after they won the recent assembly elections.

“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignations of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Smt. Renuka Singh Saruta from the Union Council of Ministers, with immediate effect, under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution,” the statement said.

Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje has been assigned additional charge of MoS in Ministry of Food Processing Industries which was handled by Patel. Union minister Arjun Munda will take the additional charge of the agriculture ministry after Tomar quit the cabinet.

Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been assigned the additional charge as MoS in Ministry of Jal Shakti while MoS Bharti Pravin Pawar has been given additional charge as MoS in Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the  Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
