India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday following a call with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.
Modi was briefed by Netanyahu on the ongoing situation as Israel carries out retaliatory strikes against Hamas and lays seige on Gaza.
"I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," he said in a post on X platform.
Hours after Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, PM took to X, saying, "Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour".
In response to PM Modi’s statement on X, Israel’s Ambassador to India Naor Gilon stated, “Thank you @PMOIndia. India’s moral support is much appreciated. Israel will prevail.”
The same day, Israel thanked the people of India after 'India is with Israel' started trending on X. “Thank you India,” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Digital Diplomacy team posted on the social media platform.
