Prime Minister Narendra Modi will wind up his Karnataka campaign on Sunday by holding a roadshow on a 10-km stretch between the Kempegowda statue at Thippasandra to Trinity Circle in Bengaluru.

Though the earlier plan was to hold a mega eight-hour road show on Saturday, it was later decided to split into two- a 26-km show on Saturday and 10-km one on Sunday - due to the NEET exams.

On Saturday, the Prime Minister roadshow began around 10 am from Someshwar Bhavan RBI Ground in Bengaluru South to Malleshwaram's Sankey Tank. Sunday's will begin around 10 am and will extend till 11:30 am.

The BJP had ensured that the Saturday's event was memorable with thousands turning up to see the Prime Minister. Standing on the specially designed vehicle, Modi greeted the crowd gathered on the sides of the roads and on nearby buildings, many of whom were seen chanting 'Modi, Modi', 'Jai Bajarangbali', 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans and shouting loud cheers in what appeared to be a "festive atmosphere" in several places..

The event was held in tight security and massive arrangements were made along the stretch, including erecting barricades.

Besides the road show, the Prime Minister's Sunday schedule also includes two public meetings - one at Shivamogga Rural at around 3:15 pm and another in Nanjangud at 5:45 pm. He will conclude the day with pooja and darshan at Nanjanagudu Shri Srikanteshwara Swami Temple at 7 pm, said party sources.

Meanwhile, the Congress has written to the Election Commission seeking action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "Congress shielded terrorism for vote bank" remark.

The party said he crossed the "lakshman rekha" and blamed him for making "malicious and false" allegations to vitiate the atmosphere poll-bound Karnataka.

The Prime Minister Modi on Friday had alleged that for the sake of vote bank politics, it has nurtured, given shelter and surrendered before terror.

The Congress wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners also against top BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, for "polarising the atmosphere in Karnataka".

"While we have objections to the entire tone and tenor of the prime minister's speech, in this representation we wish to highlight the completely unprecedented and malicious allegations, far worse than any ever made by a sitting prime minister in the history of India," Congress general secretaries Randeep Surjewala and K C Venugopal said in a memorandum sent to the Election Commission (EC) .

"He has not only crossed the 'lakshman rekha' but brazenly tarnished every norm and decorum set by his predecessors. This cannot go unchecked, unanswered and unpunished," the memorandum said.
