The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday is likely to question former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who was arrested by the CBI recently for the alleged irregularities in the Delhi liquor policy case.

According to reports, the federal probe agency had made a fresh arrest in connection with the case. Hyderabad-based liquor businessman Arun Ramchandra Pillai was arrested by the probe agency in connection with the case, reported PTI.

The ED officials are expected to reach the Tihar Jail around noon to record the statement of Sisodia under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI last month and is currently in judicial custody.

However, Pillai was taken into custody under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on Monday evening. Reportedly he had undergone a long session of questioning.

The businessman, alleged to have represented the 'Soith Group' of liquor traders in this case, is the 11th person to be arrested in the case by the ED. He is set to be produced before the court to seek further custody for interrogation.

A Delhi court on Monday sent Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia to 14-day judicial custody in the Delhi excise policy case after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted that it did not require his custody for now. Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister, was produced before the special CBI court on expiry of his seven-day custodial interrogation.

Sisodia, on his part, submitted that he was being subjected to “mental harassment” in the CBI custody by being asked the same questions repeatedly. He said the CBI officials are "taking care of me, treating me respectfully and giving all things and not using any third degree. But they are making me to sit so long 9-10 hours daily and asking the same questions again and again... it not less not mental harassment."

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26.

On February 28, Sisodia and Satyendar Jain—who has been arrested and is now lodged in Tihar jail in connection with a money laundering case—resigned from the Arvind Kejriwal cabinet.
