In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a Class 10 girl was allegedly gang-raped by five of her classmates who also recorded a video of the sexual assault and shared it with their friends on social media. Police have booked the accused, all minors, under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident allegedly took place in August but came to light after the parents of the girl approached the police.

Rachakonda Police Commissionerate said in a release that the boys used to roam on the outskirts of their locality after school timings and used to watch porn videos in their mobile phones.

To overcome their lust, the boys had an eye on one of their classmates. As the girl also moved and talked with them freely, they took it as an advantage, police said.

In August, the boys sexually assaulted the girl at her house in the absence of her family members. One of the accused also shot video of the act on his mobile phone and warned her that they would upload it on Internet if she revealed this to anybody.

According to reports, two of the boys raped her again after ten days.

The girl narrated the entire ordeal to her parents after the accused allegedly shared the video with friends through an instant messaging platform.

Based on the complaint a case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and IT Act was registered and during the course of investigation the five boys were arrested, police said.

They have been sent to a juvenile home.
