With Assembly elections around the corner in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are in Gujarat on Monday, leaving no stone unturned to ensure victory for their candidates.
While Modi will address three public rallies in Gujarat, Kejriwal too is crisscrossing the state with roadshows. Rahul Gandhi too has taken a break from his Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is currently in Madhya Pradesh, to visit Gujarat. According to local Congress leaders, Rahul will speak at rallies on Monday.
Modi will address three public rallies on the third day of his visit to the state. The Prime Minister will attend a series of 'Vijay Sankalp Sammelans' for the ruling BJP, which kicked off on Saturday with a roadshow in Valsad.
On Monday, he will address rallies in Dhrangadhra in Surendranagar district, Jambusar in Bharuch district and Navsari city.
Modi had covered four rallies in the state on Sunday- in Veraval, Dhoraji, Amreli and Botad. He had later met party workers and tweeted about it saying, "After a long day of campaigning, being among fellow Karyakartas at Kamalam is very energising!"
Kejriwal challenges BJP
AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who will be in the state till Tuesday, has already held roadshows across the state. The party has positioned itself as the main contender to the ruling BJP and has fielded candidates in all 182 seats in Gujarat for the first time.
On Sunday, responding to Modi chants amid his rally, Kejriwal responded: "Some friends are shouting 'Modi, Modi'. I would like to tell them that you may shout slogans in support of whoever you want, but it is Kejriwal who will make schools for your children. However much you shout slogans, it is Kejriwal who will offer free electricity to you."
"We have no enmity with anyone. You may shout slogans in support of whoever you want. One day we will win your heart and bring you to our party," he added.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address two public rallies on Monday as part of the campaign for party candidates, in his first visit to the state after the elections were announced.
As per the schedule released by the party, he will address rallies at Mahuva in Surat district and Rajkot city. His last visit to the state was on September 5 when he addressed a gathering of booth-level party workers in Ahmedabad.
