The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started sending the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021, to students via email. The agency said the results will soon be available on its website neet.nta.nic.in.
Last week, the Supreme Court had stayed a Bombay High Court order and permitted the NTA to declare the NEET results for admission to undergraduate medical courses across the country.
The high court had directed the agency to conduct re-examination for two aspirants whose question papers and OMR sheets had got mixed up at a centre in Maharashtra. However, the apex court maintained that the results of over 16 lakh students cannot be withheld.
The NTA, in its appeal to the Supreme Court, had said that the NEET examination for more than 16 lakh candidates was conducted on September 12, and due to the high court's order it had not been able to declare their results even though the same is ready for declaration".
The delay in declaration of results would affect and further delay the subsequent process of admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses i.e. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS Courses, the agency had said in the plea.
