Former Congress leader P.C. Chacko, who resigned from the party, is all set to meet NCP supremo Sharad Pawar in New Delhi on Tuesday. It is expected that the veteran politician is all set to join the NCP, a move that will see him campaigning for the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in his home state Kerala.
In Kerala, which goes to polls on April 6, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government is pitted against the Congress-backed United Democratic Front (UDF). While the NCP is a Congress ally in national politics, it is a member of the ruling LDF in Kerala.
“There are two fronts in Kerala. One is led by the Congress another by the Left. I left Congress, so naturally, I have to take a position. I can support the LDF,” Money Control quoted Chacko as saying.
