13 killed, over 20 injured in Tamil Nadu fireworks factory explosion

At least six people were killed in an explosion at a private fireworks factory at Acchankulam near Sattur in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Friday. According to initial reports, more than ten people have suffered injuries.

Quoting police officials, PTI reported that the blast occurred when some chemicals were being mixed to produce fireworks.

Ten fire fighting units from various locations have been rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
