In amidst of farmers' crisis, the BJP has deputed its joint general secretary (organisation) Saudan Singh to look after party affairs in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. This additional responsibility has come with a promotion for this RSS leader, who is part of the BJP, as he has also been appointed as national vice-president of the party.
The joint general secretary (organisation) is a crucial post in the BJP as the person holds the post comes from the RSS, and acts a crucial link between the party and its its fountain-head. The office bearer looks after the organisational work in the party and acts a one stop for addressing various issues in the designated areas.
Singh was earlier stationed in Raipur and managed party work in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand. He will now be posted in Chandigarh and will take care of three north Indian states. The BJP had a good show and is organisationally better placed in these states. Singh will play a crucial role in building up the party organisation where is likely to feel pressure from the allies and the opposition parties. In Punjab, NDA ally Akali Dal had walked out of the fold over the issue of new farm bills, and in Haryana, the party was feeling the strain of the agitation as its ally Dushyant Singh Chautala-led JJP's core support base is is farmers and Jats, forcing he party to calibrate its position on the issue.

The other two joint secretaries have also been given more assignments. Party chief J.P. Nadda appointed joint general secretary (organisation) V. Satish to a newly created post of 'Organiser.' Satish will now take care of coordination with the party's parliamentary office, the SC and ST morcha and its special contact programme. He was earlier looking after the party's work in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The third joint organisational secretary Shiv Prakash will continue to hold the same post, but he has been reassigned to look after BJP's work in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal.
