Surya attacks KCR, says no barricades can stop them

Tension prevailed at Osmania University in Hyderabad on Tuesday after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing leader Tejasvi Surya, along with his supporters, removed police barricades to enter the campus. Surya later addressed the students and youth at the Arts College.

Surya was in the city to campaign for the BJP in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

The firebrand leader later took to Twitter and launched a scathing attack on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

“We wanted to pay respects to Telangana movement’s martyrs at Osmania University. But KCR has closed its gate,” he said.

Surya said Telangana was not the private jagir of the KCR family. “It belongs to the common youth and the BJYM stands with them,” he added.

In another tweet, Surya said: “No fences, no barricades, no police force can stop us from doing the right thing.”

He sought to remind KCR that he is in power because of the sacrifice of thousands of common students of Telangana.

The BJP has emerged as the biggest challenger for the TRS in the Hyderabad elections with the two parties intensifying their campaign.
