Flying to Canada becomes easier as India signs air bubble deal

Stranded Indian nationals can fly from Canada to India

The civil aviation ministry has added more destinations to the list of countries where Indians can fly. Air bubble agreements with 13 countries have been finalised, said Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, tweeted.  

The civil aviation ministry in its website informed that Indian nationals with valid visas were eligible to enter Canada, so are stranded Canadian nationals and foreigners with a valid visa

Stranded Indian nationals could also fly from Canada to India, so can those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards with Canadian passports. And foreigners (including diplomats), who are eligible to enter India as per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines dated 30.06.2020 as amended from time to time.

The other nations with which India has signed an air bubble agreement include the USA, France, Germany, UK, Maldives, UAE, Qatar, Afghanistan and Bahrain. 

And while given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there are restrictions on flights operating to/from India, the Indian government is trying it best to manage Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubble operations. The air bubble agreements are temporary and are reciprocal.
