Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tested negative for COVID-19, an official said on Tuesday. The AAP chief, who had gone into self-quarantine on Sunday after he developed sore throat and mild fever, gave his samples on Tuesday morning for the COVID-19 test.

Kejriwal had cancelled all meetings scheduled for him since Sunday afternoon. He did not meet any officials on Monday. He even skipped the crucial meeting of State Disaster Management on Tuesday to discuss the COVID-19 situation.

The chief minister used to hold regular online press conferences to highlight his government's welfare measures and also steps to contain the pandemic.

On Sunday morning, Kejriwal held a cabinet meeting which several ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Environment Minister Gopal Rai, and Health Minister Satyendar Jain, attended. Chief Secretary Vijay Dev was also present.

In late May, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and some of his ministers were put in quarantine after the State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and several members of his family tested positive for COVID-19. However, Rawat subsequently tested negative for coronavirus. In April, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani stopped meeting visitors after he met a Congress MLA who tested positive for COVID-19.
