Twists and turns in the ashram of self-styled godman Nithyananda in Ahmedabad continued on Friday with his two key disciples uploading a video on their social media account and giving out conditions to return to India.

In the video, the sisters said that they are ready to return to India if they are allowed under court protection. Nityanandita, one of the sisters, even alleged that her father had tried to force her to file a rape case against “Swami Nityananda”.

Janardana Sarma, father of Lopa Mudra and Nityanandita, had filed habeas corpus writ in the Gujarat High Court. Hearing in the case is to be held on November 26.

Among the conditions put up by the sisters are that two disciples of Nityananda who have been arrested should be released. They have also demanded that they should not be “kidnapped” by their parents. The sisters have also said that they should not be ordered as to whom they should stay with.

Police said they were trying to zero in on the location of the two sisters but it was becoming difficult as they were using “proxy network”.

The police are also looking into the complaint of alleged misbehaviour with Sarma's other two minor children—a girl and a boy—by the ashram authorities.

Police have seized latops, tablets and mobile phones from the ashram. These have been sent to the Forensic Science Lab.

Police are of firm belief that Nithyananda has fled the country quite some time back. There was a complaint of rape against him in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, the state government is looking into the alleged role of Delhi Public School, East, run by Calorx Foundation, in giving its premises in lease to the ashram in its premises.

According to sources, a report has been prepared by the Education Department recommending that the affiliation of DPS, East be canceled. DPS, East has CBSE affiliation. The Education Department is reported to have also sent a letter to the CBSE asking to cancel the affiliation of DPS, East. During the investigation, the department officials have found that the School had not even converted agriculture land into non-agriculture land to set up the school.

The investigating teams have also found that some of the students of the ashram were admitted in DPS, East without proper documents.

On Thursday, school principal, Hitesh Puri, was arrested and later released on bail. The police said that he was arrested as per the norms, since he had not informed the police about the lease agreement. The school premises has been leased at token rate.
