The BJP released its manifesto or 'sankalp patra' for the Lok Sabha polls on Monday. Top party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP chief Amit Shah were present at the launch.

Speaking at the release, Amit Shah said that over the past five years, the BJP government at the Centre has set the standards for transparency. Hailing PM Modi, Shah spoke of the surgical strikes, adding that Modi struck the root of terror, and corruption. He also said that Modi had taken historic steps during his tenure. "In five years, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken 50 major decisions for the betterment of the country. From 2014-19, our government has transformed the country," Amit Shah said .

“Modi-led govt sent out strong message that India cannot be taken lightly with strikes on terror,” he said.

He assured that the BJP will fulfill aspirations of the youth. "This manifesto was written by Rajnath Singh after consulting at least 6 crore people," he added.

Concluding his address, he urged the voters to bless Modi for another five years.

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley had on Sunday unveiled campaign themes and other materials of the party's election campaign, with Phir ek baar, Modi sarkar (Modi government, once more) as the tag line.

With the Congress manifesto putting a major thrust on welfare measures, including a promise of giving Rs 72,000 to the poorest 20 per cent households in India, the BJP is likely to make a slew of promises to woo different sections of the society, especially farmers, youth and women.
