Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will flag off the Mumbai-Hazrat Nizamuddin bi-weekly Rajdhani Express on Saturday. This is the third Rajdhani train on the Mumbai-Delhi route.
>> The train begins journey from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and will take halt at Kalyan, Nasik, Jalgaon, Khandwa, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra before reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin.
>> This will be the first train passing through two significant Hindi heartland states—Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
>> The train will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai every Wednesday (no. 22221) and Saturday (no. 22222) at 2.50 pm and arrive at Hazarat Nizamuddin at 10.20 am next day.
>> The train will leave Hazarat Nizamuddin every Thursday and Sunday at 4.15 pm and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 11.55 am next day.
>> The new train will have 15 coaches, including one First AC coach, three AC 2-tier coaches, eight AC 3-tier coaches and a pantry car.
>> The new train is expected to benefit hundreds of commuters on the central suburbs, who had to go to Mumbai Central earlier to travel by a Rajdhani.
Currently two Rajdhani trains run on the Western Railway—one from Mumbai Central and the other from Bandra Terminus.
