CM Yogi furious over growing incidents of looting and robbery in UP

The chief minister Yogi Adityanath is furious these days. The reason being a steep hike in the cases of loots in the state. Addressing the district police chiefs, the chief minister expressed his displeasure  and asked for an explanation.  When majority of them replied that  the cases are being solved, the CM admonished them  and said, “ he does not want cut and dried replies instead wants the cases to be stopped.”

He directed the police chiefs to hike the vigil and take stern action against corrupt cops. Not only this, he directed every district chief to identify top ten criminals in the area and prevent such incidents.

The chief minister was particularly annoyed with the police chiefs of  Amethi, Kannuaj, Jaunpur and Varanasi districts over bad law and order situation in  their area.  Some of the incidents that made the CM furious are where a bride was killed four weeks ago by armed robbers in Meerut district. At the incident the robbers looted cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The groom was also injured during the attack.

About two months ago in a brazen robbery case in Lucknow robbers looted about Rs. 6 lakh in cash from the van belonging to a bank.

In September this year, armed robbers looted cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from the Chennai-Patna express train at Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh.

The Yogi has also exhorted the police chiefs to be extra careful to prevent such incidents especially on the occasion of Diwali.
