The main charges against them are spreading messages of hate on social media. The police have arrested associates of the Congress legislator.

The police also arrested five members of the Thakor community and elected taluka member from Congress Mahotji Thakor for threatening a migrant in Uvarsad village near Adalaj area on the night of October 2. The accused went to the victim's house and threatened to kill him unless he vacated his house before October 8, the cops said.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted about how he is against violence against migrant workers. He also made a comment about poverty and unemployment is the the real cause for all this hatred and violence against workers from other states.

Crime branch suspects organised criminal conspiracy behind violence. In the course of investigation, they found 106 people who were spreading aggressive posts, videos and messages against migrants and were provoking people. 15 of them have been arrested. The crime branch are currently trying to take down these posts of hatred on social media targeting migrants.

In the meanwhile, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani said that the Congress president should take action against the arrested Congress leader and take steps to curb violence instead of tweeting. " Congress first incites violence against Migrants. Congress President tweets to condemn this violence. Does the Congress President not have any shame?,” the CM said.
