The BJP will win 300 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and continue to be in power, an internal survey of the saffron party predicted.

The survey also predicted that the NDA will win 360 seats, which will be about 51 per cent of the total vote share. This would mean that the coalition will get 12 per cent more votes than it got in the previous elections, say media reports. The BJP had won 282 seats and the NDA 336 in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

The survey comes even as the government is facing flak over rising fuel prices and the Congress and other opposition parties are up in arms to corner the ruling party over various issues, including the Rafale deal.

It must be noted that the previous surveys conducted by various agencies predicted that the NDA would get less than 300 seats. The 'Mood of the Nation’ survey, conducted in May, had showed that if the elections were held then, the NDA would get only 274 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. The survey had also predicted that the UPA would get only 164 seats. The survey also showed that 47 per cent of the population are not in favour of the NDA coming back to power for a second term.

Another survey that was conducted in July revealed that the NDA would get 282 seats.

When the BJP begins its intensive campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, it will focus on the achievements of the ruling BJP government, 'Brand Modi' and the organisational skills of BJP chief Amit Shah, among others. The saffron party will also highlight that the opposition parties do not have a leader to lead them from the front, and claim that the Congress was a failure even as opposition.
