A CPI(M) worker was stabbed to death in Kerala's Kasaragod district late on Sunday night. It is alleged that the victim, identified as 25-year-old Aboobacker Siddique from Sonkal in Uppala area of Kasaragod, was stabbed by BJP workers following a dispute over selling of liquor.

Around four bike-borne assailants attacked him around 11.30 pm on Sunday night. Siddique could not be saved even though he was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The CPI(M) leadership has blamed the RSS for the attack. The CPI(M) has called for a hartal in Manjeswaram taluk on Monday afternoon.

Clashes between RSS-CPI(M) workers are not new to Kerala. Kannur district, neighbouring Kasaragod, is especially notorious for such attacks. Each attack would end up in the political parties playing the blame-game on each other.

In May, a worker each from the CPI(M) and the RSS were killed in two separate incidents in Mahe.
