Abhimanyu murder: Cops nab main accused Muhammed from Karnataka border

In a major breakthrough, a police team nabbed Muhammed, the main accused in the murder of Students Federation of India (SFI) leader Abhimanyu, from Kerala-Karnataka border on Wednesday.

Muhammed is the president of the Campus Front of India's Maharaja's College unit. He will now be brought to Kochi.

A third-year BA Arabic student, Muhammed hails from Vaduthala in Kochi.

Muhammed has been accused of plotting to murder Abhimanyu, his collegemate in Maharaja's College. Four others have also been taken into custody.

Abhimanyu, hailing from Vattavada in Idukki district, was stabbed to death in the college campus on July 1 following an altercation over a graffiti. The murder was committed by alleged activists of the Popular Front of India, its student wing Campus Front and SDPI.
