UPSC prelims e-admit card released, no paper admit card this year

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) have informed that it will be conducting this year's civil services preliminary examinations on June 3. Candidates apprearing for UPSC civil services prelims should download their admit cards from http://www.upsc.gov.in. This year, candidates appearing for the preliminary examination of the civil services will not be issued a physical copy of their admit card, UPSC informed on Monday.

"Candidates are advised to download their e-admit cards and take a printout thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-admit card at the allotted venue for... the examination," the UPSC said in the statement.

How to download your e-admit card for UPSC Prelims 2018:

1. Visit http://www.upsc.gov.in

2. You'll find 'what's new' on the right side of the window; click on it 

3. You'll be redirected to a new window. Select 'e - Admit Card: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018' from the list of options

4. Click on the download link

5. Download the UPSC Prelims admit card and save it. Take a printout 

The following are the important instructions for the candidates from the UPSC: 

1. The UPSC civil services prelims examinations will be held on June 3. Paper 1 will be held from 9:30 am to 11: 30 am. Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. 

2. Entry into the examination venue will be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the examination, i.e. 9:20 am for the morning exam and 2:20 pm for the

afternoon exam. 

3. Candidates will not be allowed to appear at any other examination venue except that mentioned in their respective e-admit card.

4. Candidates can use only black ball point pens.

5. Mobile phones (even in switched off mode), calculator, pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches etc, or camera or Bluetooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories are banned inside the examination hall. 

6. Other valuable/costly items and bags are also not allowed inside the examination venue.
