Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday said that all parties should join hands to ensure a Modi-mukt Bharat. He was addressing a public rally on occasion of Gudi Padwa, the Maharashtrian New Year.

According to an Indian Express report, the MNS leader stressed on the importance of routing PM Modi for the good of Maharashtra and India. According to the report, he also claimed that the BJP was working to trigger riots among Hindus and Muslims in the country in the name of the Ram temple.

Ahead of the rally, he met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar.

Thackeray had described the meeting, at Pawar's residence in south Mumbai, as a courtesy call and not a political one.
