Actor Gaurav Khanna’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 journey has come to an end, but not in the way fans expected. The actor, who was a part of Rohit Shetty’s stunt-based reality show, decided to quit the competition voluntarily. His decision came after he realised that continuing to be on the show could worsen his existing elbow injury and affect his recovery.
Why did Gaurav Khanna quit Khatron Ke Khiladi 15?
Gaurav Khanna revealed that his persistent elbow pain was the main reason behind his decision to leave the show. He was concerned about the impact that future stunts could have on his injury and recovery.
“I took a voluntary exit from the show because of my health. When you watch the show, you will come to know. I won my stunt, but after that I thought I don’t want to continue because if there is electrocution or current in any upcoming stunt, it triggers my elbow pain excruciatingly," Khanna said in a video shared on his YouTube channel.
He also mentioned how the pain from a previous stunt had left him in pain and unable to use his arm for the next 2-3 days.
When does an elbow injury become serious?
Most often, elbow pain is caused by activities that use repetitive motion in the arm, hand or wrist, including in sports, hobbies, or work.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, the following are some of the repetitive strain injuries that can affect the elbows.
- Tendonitis: This is a common sports injury and is also called tennis elbow. It occurs when it affects the tendon on the outer side of the elbow, and golfer’s elbow when it’s on the inner side.
- Elbow bursitis is inflammation in the bursae at the point of your elbow.
- Nerve compression syndromes may feel like a pinched nerve in your elbow.
How are elbow injuries treated?
The exact treatment protocol will depend on the diagnosis. Some conditions might need surgery, while others might need specific medications.
