Local media reports claim that a number of bullets were fired at the Punjabi content creator, after which he was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, but did not make it.

Punjabi content creator Madhusudan Sandhu, better known as 'Mad Sandhu' to his Instagram and YouTube followers, was fatally shot on Saturday in Amritsar.

Local media reports claim that a number of bullets were fired at him, after which he was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, but did not make it.

Purported videos of the incident are also circulating online, showing the influencer lying in a pool of blood on the street, after which some people can be seen picking him up.

Spent bullet shells can also be seen on the side of the road.

The police arrived at the scene after they were informed of Sandhu's brutal death, and have now launched a probe.

The influencer and makeup artist has a following of 2.25 lakh on Instagram, where he puts makeup content, memes, vlogs, and social commentary. He also maintains a moderate presence on his YouTube channel, which contains longer vlogs and YouTube Shorts videos on makeup and fashion.

Mad Sandhu's Instagram profile also states that he is the founder of a unisex salon in Amritsar called Manelane.

While the cause of his death is not currently known, it comes months after Nihang Jathedar (leader) Manpreet Singh Khalsa objected to Sandhu's social media activities, attire, and old videos.

In fact, they warned Mad Sandhu to refrain from posting content on social media that they claimed was having a negative impact on Punjab's culture and youth, as per a Dainik Bhaskar report.

At the time of the controversy, Sandhu had clarified that he had changed himself, and had stopped repeating past mistakes. He had also said that reposting his old video on social media was creating unnecessary issues.
