Omar Sy will once again lead the series as Assane Diop, the charming and highly skilled thief inspired by the legendary French gentleman thief Arsène Lupin. Several familiar faces are also returning, including Ludivine Sagnier as Claire, Antoine Gouy as Benjamin, Soufiane Guerrab as Youssef, and Shirine Boutella as Sofia. New cast members Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard will also join the ensemble.
The series was created by George Kay and François Uzan and is produced by Gaumont and Carrousel Studios. Filming for Part 4 began in Paris in May 2025 and wrapped in September of the same year.
The new season will continue directly from the dramatic ending of Part 3. Assane surrendered himself to the police in an attempt to protect his family, leaving him behind bars. Part 4 will explore what happens next as he tries to regain his freedom while facing new dangers that threaten the people closest to him.
The upcoming episodes are expected to have a darker and more personal tone. Much of the story will revolve around psychological battles and high-stakes mind games. Assane will have to use his intelligence and ability to plan many moves, even while trapped in prison. His long-time enemy, Hubert Pellegrini, is also set to play an important role in this tense new chapter.
The long gap between Parts 3 and 4 seems the result of the show's growing ambition. Earlier instalments were shorter, with Parts 1 and 2 having five episodes each and Part 3 having seven. Part 4 will be the longest yet, with eight episodes.
The writers also faced the challenge of developing a complex story following Part 3’s cliffhanger. The shift from Paris’s open streets to the confined world of prison required a different approach, while new characters and deeper backstories added further layers to the plot.
Production and post-production also took considerable time. After filming ended in September 2025, the team spent much of the following year working on editing, visual effects and the carefully timed heist sequences. The result is expected to be the biggest and most ambitious chapter of "Lupin" yet.
