Box Office: 'Jana Nayagan' crosses Rs 170 crore worldwide on Day 3
Despite this solid performance, the movie's opening pace lags behind Vijay's previous blockbusters like 'Leo' and 'The GOAT'. A noticeable 50% drop in second-day collections and mixed reviews have impacted its momentum
Jana Nayagan continued its box office run with a strong performance on its third day. The film earned a net collection of Rs 28.50 crore across 12,299 shows in India, marking a 34.8% increase from its second-day net collection of Rs 21.15 crore. After three days, the film has collected Rs 92.35

The film earned a net collection of Rs 28.50 crore across 12,299 shows in India, marking a 34.8% increase from its second-day net collection of Rs 21.15 crore. After three days, the film has collected Rs 92.35 crore in India (net) and Rs 108.34 crore in India (gross).
The film has also performed well overseas. It added Rs 20 crore on Day 3, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 63.50 crore. According to Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan has now reached a worldwide gross collection of Rs 171.84 crore in its first three days.
Despite this impressive total, the film has not matched the opening pace of Vijay's recent blockbusters. A sharp 50% drop in collections on its second day slowed its momentum, and mixed reviews appear to have affected its overall performance. Leo remains Vijay's biggest opening success with a three-day worldwide gross of around Rs 295 crore, while The GOAT collected about Rs 220 crore worldwide in its first three days, crossing the Rs 100 crore domestic mark by Day 3 despite receiving mixed reviews.
Jana Nayagan has also underperformed in Kerala, a market where Vijay has traditionally enjoyed exceptional success as a non-Malayalam star. The film managed a three-day gross of Rs 10 crore in the state after a steep 63% drop on its second day. In comparison, Leo earned around Rs 35 crore in Kerala over its first three days and eventually crossed Rs 60 crore, while The GOAT collected about Rs 21 crore during the same period.
