In India, it registered a net total of Rs 41 crore and grossed Rs 48.27 crore across 13,067 shows, as per box office tracking by Sacnilk.
Overseas, it grossed Rs 30 crore, which contributed to the cumulative worldwide gross. The Tamil version naturally brought in the biggest share in domestic earnings, collecting Rs 36.50 crore, while the Telugu Version collected Rs 2.75 crore and the Hindi Version Rs 1.75 crore. While the performance marks a highly successful launch, it fell short of some of Vijay's historic benchmarks and his biggest previous records: Even Vijay's "Beast" had opened with a Rs 49.30 crore collection and GOAT with Rs 44 crore. It also missed entering the elite 50 crore Day 1 earner club of Tamil films — a list currently led by movies like "Leo" (Rs 64.80 crore) and "Coolie" (Rs 65 crore).
The low numbers could be due to a six-month release delay, the unexpected leak, and the subdued performance in dubbed markets outside of Tamil Nadu. Even globally, the film failed to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club on Day 1. As in India, Vijay's biggest previous global Day 1 openers include "Leo" (Rs 148.50 crore — his all-time highest global opener and a historic benchmark for Tamil cinema) — and "The Greatest of All Time" (GOAT) (Rs 126.32 crore - holding the second spot).
