In a development that should excite fans of both Guy Ritchie and fans of "MobLand", Paramount+ has announced an official streaming date for the second season of the acclaimed gangster drama series headlined by Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. The 10-episode second chapter will premiere on September 18, 2026. An official teaser has also debuted online. As in the first season, every episode will be released weekly on Fridays on Paramount+. Indian viewers can watch it on JioHotstar, which also platformed the first season.
"MobLand" Season 2 teases an intense civil war following the chaotic events of the season one finale, after what transpired between the Harrigan crime dynasty and their rivals. Patriarch Conrad (Brosnan) and matriarch Maeve Harrigan (Mirren) manage to get out of prison, but they must instantly defend their fractured North London empire against emerging rival gangs. Amidst the rising street warfare, the family's core "fixer," Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), must walk a dangerous tightrope to keep the syndicate from self-destructing from within. Other returning cast members include Paddy Considine as Kevin Harrigan and Joanne Froggatt as Jan Da Souza.
The show was recently in the headlines after rumours emerged of a fallout between Hardy and showrunner Jez Butterworth. In May, various news outlets reported that Hardy had creative disagreements with the makers and that he was gearing up to leave the show after Season 2. The tension reportedly stemmed from creative disagreements and script timeline issues.
The issue was eventually sorted out when Guy Ritchie (director and executive producer) and 101 Studios CEO David Glasser stepped in to mediate. Following a successful face-to-face meeting in London, the team managed to convince Hardy to follow through with the third chapter as well. There were initially rumours of a rift between Hardy and Mirren as well, but she has publicly defended Hardy’s intense professionalism on social media, permanently putting an end to the debates.
