Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' cleared in India with no cuts, 'A' certificate
The film's approval with an 'A' certificate signifies that all scenes and dialogues have been left intact, preserving Nolan's original artistic vision for this release

Recently, though, just when fans assumed he wouldn't return to adult-friendly territory, he made "Oppenheimer" which showed a side (no pun intended) of Nolan he never did before. Naturally, it became the first Nolan film to be released in India with awkward edits for nudity and sex scecnes that later invited trolls.
So, naturally, his fans in India would be concerned about his latest release, "The Odyssey".We can all relax because the Matt Damon-starrer has been reportedly cleared without cuts or other alterations. It has been cleared with an 'A'certificate, meaning only audiences aged 18 and above. This means every scene and dialogue has been left intact. Indian audiences will get to see the same theatrical cut — duration: 172.33 minutes (2 hours, 52 minutes, and 33 seconds — that's being screened globally. The film was apparently certified ahead of its official premiere in Mumbai on July 10.
What happened with the Indian theatrical version of 'Oppenheimer'?
In order to secure a milder 'U/A' rating and avoid a flat-out ban, Warner Bros. Discovery pre-emptively altered the film before submitting it to the CBFC. During an intimate scene with Cillian Murphy, a nude Florence Pugh was covered using a digital, computer-generated (CGI) black dress, which was perfect fodder for meme and content creators. Moreover, the CBFC mandated anti-smoking health warnings and muted a prominent expletive, removing it from the subtitles. Additionally, the physical cover of the Bhagavad Gita shown during a controversial intimate sequence was digitally blurred by distributors. Regardless, the film was a success worldwide, collecting close to $1 billion.
