Season 5 is expected to pick up the morning after the frantic events of Season 4. He is attempting to learn who he is outside of the high-stress food industry and heal from his familial trauma. Both White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach have noted in interviews that while Carmy needed to step back, the final season perfectly balances his personal resolution alongside the rest of the main crew stepping up to lead.
