On Day 19 (third Monday), there was a notable 70.6% drop in earnings for "Drishyam 3". Compared to the Rs 1.70 crore earned on Sunday, the Mohanlal thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph netted only Rs 0.50 crore on Monday, showed Sacnilk data.

However, it holds a massive edge in lifetime totals, fueled entirely by its enormous overseas gross of Rs 111.50 crore, already establishing itself as one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time.

Interestingly, the domestic net totals of "Drishyam 3" have placed it marginally ahead of Mohanlal's highest global grosser "L2 Empuraan".  On Day 19, "Drishyam 3" raked in Rs 106.93 compared to the Rs 104.78 crore of "L2 Empuraan". However, the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial is comfortably ahead in terms of domestic gross and worldwide figures.

"L2 Empuraan" is still ahead of “Drishyam 3” in global haul. It has a higher worldwide gross (Rs 266.81 crore) compared to "Drishyam 3" (Rs 235.55 crore), owing to the significantly larger overseas collection of "L2 Empuraan" (Rs 142.25 crore). The overseas gross of "Drishyam 3" currently stands at Rs 111.50 crore.

Despite the domestic crash on Day 19, "Drishyam 3" has achieved something none of Mohanlal's older classics could do at the same speed: it stands as the actor's fastest film to cross Rs 230+ crore worldwide, bolstered entirely by the aforementioned overseas gross and, of course, pre-established franchise hype.

However, when it comes to true, sustained box office legs, the third week performance of "Drishyam 3" falls below that of previous Malayalam blockbusters such as Soubin Shahir's "Manjummel Boys", Fahadh Faasil-starrer "Aavesham" and Tovino Thomas' survival thriller "2018".
