Ayushmann Khurrana's "Pati Patni Aur Woh Do" has registered a two-day worldwide gross of Rs 13.70 crore after a 43.8% box office performance growth on Saturday. However, it fell short of the 2019 original's opening two-day worldwide collection of 26 crore.

It also opened significantly lower than its predecessor in India, earning roughly half of the first film's day-one and day-two numbers. The 2019 film netted Rs 9.10 crore on Day 1 and Rs 12.33 crore on Day 2. The sequel, however, grossed only 4 crore on Day 1 and 5.75 crore on Day 2. But it has picked up on Saturday with the aforementioned 43.8% surge.

However, "Pati Patni Aur Woh Do" tracks closely with Ayushmann Khurrana's mid-range social comedies while trailing far behind his recent franchise blockbuster, "Thama".

The 2019 original film starring Kartik Aaryan was a certified box office hit with a worldwide total of Rs 109 crore. The 2026 (spiritual) sequel has struggled to match that initial box office momentum. But it's early days and it remains to be seen if it will pass the crucial Monday test.

"Thama" is currently Ayushmann's highest grosser. A part of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, it opened to a massive Rs 24.00 Cr net and finished at Rs 187.59 crore India net.

His 2022 film "Doctor G" collected a very similar Rs 3.50 crore on Day 1 and wrapped up its total run at Rs 44 crore India net. Similarly, "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" started its run at Rs 3.75 crore, finishing with a lifetime net of Rs 30.20 crore.
