"Drishyam 3" has made box office history by crossing Rs 10 crore gross in worldwide pre-sales a full week ahead of its theatrical release on May 21, 2026. As per reports, the highly anticipated Malayalam crime thriller, starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, has already generated global pre-sales figures of Rs 10 crore and counting.
At the Kerala box office, the film has collected Rs 2.7 crore gross for Day 1 alone, selling its first Rs 20 lakh worth of tickets in under seven minutes, placing it as the second-fastest Malayalam film after "L2: Empuraan", which reached the Rs 20 lakh milestone in Kerala in just 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Overseas, "Drishyam 3" reportedly collected over $320,000 (approx. Rs 2.6+ crore), with strong momentum building in the GCC countries and the United States.
"Drishyam 3" is the 5th Malayalam film to cross the Rs 10 crore mark in global opening-weekend pre-sales, joining the ranks of major action-driven spectacles like "Odiyan", "Marakkar", "Empuraan", and "Patriot". It marks the highest-ever booking for a non-action, suspense-thriller film in Mollywood history.
Every other movie in the top 5 relied on massive action sequences, star-studded ensembles, or heavy fan-show layouts to drive pre-sales. "Drishyam 3" is the first pure suspense/drama franchise tracking to cross a projected Rs 15–18 crore in final bookings. Unlike "Empuraan", which opened all theatre schedules simultaneously, the makers of "Drishyam 3" are opening show schedules gradually.
Moreover, unlike its predecessors, which were remade regionally, "Drishyam 3" is releasing simultaneously as a dubbed pan-Indian project in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. A separate Hindi version, starring Ajay Devgn, is slated for release on October 2, 2026.
