'Dacoit' on Prime Video: When is Adivi Sesh-Mrunal Thakur movie streaming?

Directed by Shaneil Deo and co-scripted by him and Adivi Sesh, the film featured Anurag Kashyap as a police officer. Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang produced the romance-thriller

The Telugu-Hindi bilingual thriller "Dacoit", starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, is gearing up for its streaming premiere nearly a month after its theatrical release. Prime Video has officially announced that the romance-action drama will be out on the streamer on May 8.

It will begin streaming first in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, with a Hindi version expected later.

Directed by Shaneil Deo and co-scripted by him and Sesh, the film featured Anurag Kashyap in an integral police character, with Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni and Sunil in other notable supporting roles.

Sesh plays Hari, a convict seeking vengeance against his former lover, Juliet (Mrunal Thakur), for an act of betrayal that landed him in prison. The film explores weighty subjects like caste and systemic failure through an intense action-suspense narrative, whilst exploring, through a flashback, a love story.

Despite the mixed reviews overall, "Dacoit" got some appreciation for its overall technical quality and performances.

The film reportedly did decent business overall, when including the streaming deals and box office figures. As per reports, the film recovered its Rs 65 crore budget within two weeks, with about 45-55% revenue earned from ticket sales alone, and the rest, about Rs 48 crore, from digital, satellite, and audio rights sales.

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang, the film was shot by cinematographer Danush Bhaskar and edited by Kodati Pavan Kalyan. The songs were composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, and the background score was handled by Gyaani and S. Anant Srikar. Its total runtime is 152 minutes.
