After 'No Other Choice', Park Chan-wook assembles EPIC cast for Western written by S. Craig Zahler

S Craig Zahler, known for his ultra-violent and witty crime movies "Bone Tomahawk", "Brawl in Cell Block 99" and "Dragged Across Concrete" penned the script of "The Brigands of Rattlecreek"

Acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook is returning to an English-language project after garnering many accolades for his last Korean-language undertaking, "No Other Choice", which he directed after working on the HBO miniseries "The Sympathiser".

Entertainment outlet Deadline revealed that Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei will headline the project titled "The Brigands of Rattlecreek". Wei previously collaborated with Park in "Decision to Leave".

The script revolves around a Sheriff and a doctor seeking retribution after a group of bandits creates havoc in a small town.

The script comes from novelist and filmmaker S Craig Zahler, known for his ultra-violent and witty crime movies "Bone Tomahawk", "Brawl in Cell Block 99" and "Dragged Across Concrete".

Hardcore Zahler would've wanted him to direct this project himself; however, he is busy mounting his upcoming directorial efforts, the first of which is a crime drama titled "The Bookie & the Bruiser", starring Theo James and frequent collaborator Vince Vaughn.

Matthew McConaughey is coming off Apple TV's "The Lost Bus", which saw him take on a gripping lead role after a long hiatus.

And Austin Butler, currently one of the most in-demand actors, has a big upcoming line-up which also includes the "Miami Vice" reboot — titled "Miami Vice '85", based on the iconic 1984 TV show of the same name —  and a Lance Armstrong biopic directed by Edward Berger. He is also part of the crime film "Enemies" co-starring Jeremy Allen White ("The Bear").
