Box office record: 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' secures biggest extended opening week, beating 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'

The Ranveer Singh-led spy-action thriller collecting ₹674.17 crore domestically means it has already gone past the total domestic lifetime earnings of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', Shraddha Kapoor's 'Stree 2', and Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava'

Ranveer Singh plays the titular role in 'Dhurandhar' series

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has managed to register the biggest extended opening week in Indian cinema history—breaking another record set by Allu Arjun's Telugu blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Data-tracking website Sacnilk confirmed that Dhurandhar: The Revenge leads by a solid margin after the extended first-week total of the Bollywood action-spy thriller reached ₹1,079 crore, against Pushpa 2's tally of ₹1,059 crore.

On its second Friday, Dhurandhar 2 reportedly collected ₹41.55 crore. In December 2024, Pushpa 2 had earned ₹43.43 crore on its second Friday, followed by a spectacular Saturday–Sunday jump of ₹75.49 crore and ₹91.31 crore respectively. All eyes are now on the Aditya Dhar movie to see if it can produce a similar second-weekend collection and challenge Pushpa 2's ₹210.23 crore (India gross).

As per the latest reports, the total domestic collection of the Dhurandhar sequel now stands at ₹715.72 crore, while its worldwide gross has reached ₹1,128.99 crore.

As per Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 remains the benchmark for the biggest single-day opening with a massive ₹164.25 crore nett in India. Dhurandhar 2, however, created history as the first Bollywood film to cross the ₹100 crore mark on a single day, netting ₹102.55 crore.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released on 19 March in the Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The movie also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The sequel charts the rise of Singh's character, Hamza Ali Mazari, in the Karachi underworld, while also delving into his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi—tracing the journey of the young man who eventually transforms into the covert operative.

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
